Tuxedo Park, NY: Monday, May 30, 2016 from 12:00-3:00pm the Tuxedo Park Library will commemorate those who have served our country with their 13th Annual Memorial Day Community Picnic. Originally intended to be a one-time library centennial celebration, this picnic/fundraiser was such a hit with the community that the library decided to make it an annual event. Thanks to library staff members and local volunteers, the picnic brings hundreds of people together for engaging entertainment, delicious food from local vendors, games, and fun for the whole family.

The picnic helps to fund the library’s wide variety of programming and has grown tremendously over the past few years. The Library is expecting the picnic to be the biggest yet. Due to an increase in interest from local businesses and residents, the Library found it necessary to expand the size of the picnic’s  ad journal by four pages.

The Tuxedo Memorial Day parade passes in front of the library on Route 17 at 11:30am. For senior citizens unable to stand to observe the parade, the library provides chairs and a pop-up tent for shelter from the sun. At noon the picnic will begin with DJ George Carney, custom photos by Dragonfly Studio, Steve the Balloon Man, a Bounce House, food, and games for all ages. Mario the Magician will entertain all at 12:30pm, Tuxedo’s Got Talent competition begins at 1:30pm, and raffle drawings for a wide variety of locally donated prizes will begin at 2:30pm.
