WARWICK – The members of the Chosun Taekwondo Academy Leadership Team recently donated $1000 from the sale of refreshments at the popular Warwick High School Ultimania Basketball game to benefit the Brian Ahearn Children’s Fund. At a recent board of directors meeting of the organization, Master Doug Cook, owner and head instructor of the academy along with members of the Chosun Leadership Team, presented the proceeds to the president, Jeff Ahearn. Board members spoke about the mission of the BACF and explained how the charity has raised over one-million dollars since its inception to assist needy children (or families with children in need) who reside in Orange, Ulster and Sullivan County, NY.
The mission of the Chosun Leadership Team, under the direction of black belt Cheryl Crouchen, and assistant directors, Pam Pyke and Bryce Parkinson, is to provide leadership skills for young taekwondo students within the Chosun Taekwondo Academy and the community at large. Earlier events generated funds for the Warwick Lion’s Club Annual Christmas Party, the Warwick Historical Society, the Warwick Humane Society, the Warwick Ambulance Corp and refurbishing the grounds around the gazebo at the Warwick Town Park.
